Mobile customers also generate around 30% of Facebook’s advertising revenue making it an area the company is likely to dedicate resources to improving the experience. The number of iPad apps just continue to grow and there is a new social media platform every day which attempts to imitate Facebook. As a result, Facebook is constantly adding new features with hooks to bring users back.
Google + is still the second largest Social Media platform behind Facebook with Monthly active users of 359 Million. While Google is still number two in percentage wise, it has experienced a 33% growth rate over the past year. This is by for the closest platform that can take away Facebook’s number one spot in the list of social networking sites.
YouTube can not be discounted when it comes to looking at social media facts since its boasts over 1 billion monthly users. Many of the younger generation have replaced the cable with YouTube Videos, and this number is only going to grow over time. LinkedIn is also a major player in the social media arena. It has over 200 million users and is poised to increase its influence in multiple areas. The site does mainly cater to building a professional prescience, but more and more educators are now using LinkedIn to make contacts and share data with colleagues.
